Hexter Hawks Weekly Update for October 21, 2019
Staff, Parents, Community Members and Stakeholders
I'm excited to share with you that Hexter's Assistant Principal, Mr. Hutchison, will start this Monday! Please join me in welcoming Mr. Hutchinson to his new and awesome school! Our next priority and commitment is to ensure we are diligent in our principal selection process.
I will be keeping you abreast weekly on the status of our principal search. So far, I have met with PTA Board and SBDM to discuss process and approximate timeline. Today, (Oct. 18th), I met with campus staff to begin the process of building the campus profile to identify the attributes needed in a new principal. In the next couple of weeks candidates will be screened and interviewed by Executive Directors' panel.
Thank you for your support!
Ms. Clarita Rivera
Welcome Mr. James Hutchison, Assistant Principal
Hello Hexter Elementary Staff and Stakeholders!
I am very excited to become part of the Hexter team! I wanted to share some background information about myself. I knew that education was my career path at a young age. After graduating from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, I joined Teach for America and moved to Dallas to start my teaching career at H. Grady Spruce High School. In 2012, I joined Uplift Education and have served in various instructional and leadership positions within that network – including Dean of Instruction, Instructional Coach, and Athletic Director. In my most recent role, I served as Lead Interventionist for Uplift Williams Middle School, which underwent a successful turnaround from being "Improvement Required" to an "A" rated campus. This summer, I graduated from Southern Methodist University’s Accelerated School Leadership Program. I cannot wait to get on campus and work with all the students, teachers, staff, parents, and community of Victor H. Hexter Elementary!
