A Message from Mr. Hatfield
Dear College Hills Parents & Guardians,
We hope this letter finds everyone well and ready for the holiday season that is quickly approaching. Red Ribbon week was a success ending with our book character parade. We were glad to see so many families join us for the parade and rally. A&M Consolidated Band brought a full crew this year and it was amazing. We also appreciate the Football Team, Cheer Leaders and Bengal Belles for bringing a lot of excitement to the pep rally.
We have many exciting activities upcoming, including Zoey's Kitchen spirit night on the 16th and our 6th annual Paws to the Pavement on November 18th. If you have not registered for a day of family fun and fitness you still have time. We would also like to let everyone know that we will start the KBTX Food for Families food drive upon returning from Thanksgiving break and our Giving Tree will be set up in the office as well. Enjoy all the upcoming holidays with your family and friends! As always, thank you for sharing your children with us.

TEACHING GIVING AT COLLEGE HILLS
Visit the office in the days following the Thanksgiving break to help our CHE staff with their giving tree. Our staff's giving tree displays items that are needed for a child at CHE and parents are welcome to assist staff in fulfilling these items. Please, choose a listed need to purchase and deliver before the staff's giving tree wrap up party. Alternatively, parents are also welcome to simply offer a cash donation to help support the effort.
College Hills participates in KBTX's food drive and that will take place right after Thanksgiving Break.
Many College Hills families will benefit from a local effort to provide holiday meals for those identified by school counselors and other local entities such as the Area Agency on Aging. This is a new group filling the need due to changes that recently left this annual tradition without adequate funding. Lend a hand and learn more at their facebook page: www.facebook.com/groups/blessingsinbags/
The CSISD Education Foundation can help you give a meaningful gift to both your own teacher as well as make the dreams of all CSISD teachers come true! Learn more about their Star Educator program.
Also, the Books and a Blanket program is a nonprofit started by CHE siblings that benefits local children each Christmas. Please consider dropping off new and gently used books in the front office or at collection locations around town such as Blue Baker. Blankets that are new or made from new fabric are also collected. November is the busiest time of the year as they prepare for the early December deliveries.
Stay tuned for more details available immediately following the Thanksgiving Holiday.

BOX TOP CONTEST RESULTS
With the contest tally below plus a few "e box tops" we've got a great check for roughly heading to College Hills in December. Those little $.10 donations really do add up! Please keep them coming all year and we'll work our way to another great check in the spring.
WE TAKE VOLUNTEERS ALL YEAR ROUND
1. Let us know what volunteer opportunities interest you. We'll email you when volunteer opportunities come up if you select to hear about them through this online google form here:
Having trouble accessing the form? Send us an email to collegehillspto@gmail.com and we'll send you the link or a pdf that you can print and send in to your child's teacher.
2. Please complete CSISD’s Online Volunteer Application to be approved before you are able to volunteer inside the school during school hours.
Go to csisd.org and look for “Volunteering” under the “Parent Info” tab.
OR follow this link here:
With remind & Facebook, parents can receive helpful reminders and interesting news where it is most convenient.
We share even more info for parents through Facebook for the school here and for the PTO here. It is encouraged that parents toggle on "Get Notifications" on the top of our pages. Otherwise, many posts will not be included in your news feed without being boosted with an ad buy. We'd rather spend our money on the kids:)
