A Message from Mr. Hatfield

Dear College Hills Parents & Guardians,

We hope this letter finds everyone well and ready for the holiday season that is quickly approaching. Red Ribbon week was a success ending with our book character parade. We were glad to see so many families join us for the parade and rally. A&M Consolidated Band brought a full crew this year and it was amazing. We also appreciate the Football Team, Cheer Leaders and Bengal Belles for bringing a lot of excitement to the pep rally.

We have many exciting activities upcoming, including Zoey's Kitchen spirit night on the 16th and our 6th annual Paws to the Pavement on November 18th. If you have not registered for a day of family fun and fitness you still have time. We would also like to let everyone know that we will start the KBTX Food for Families food drive upon returning from Thanksgiving break and our Giving Tree will be set up in the office as well. Enjoy all the upcoming holidays with your family and friends! As always, thank you for sharing your children with us.

Parents will soon be able to access a directory

As parents register for school they have the opportunity to opt to be included in a student directory that other parents may use to contact each other. This includes the names of students, emails and phone numbers. No physical addresses or birthdays are included. This directory is password protected and available for download at Parents will need the password: callingallcubs

If you ever forget the password, simply email the PTO and help us identify you as a parent of a current student.

This year's directory should be available by 11/20 or even sooner.

Come see our art and eat some great food!

Earlier this past summer, one of CHE's newest neighbors, Zoe's Kitchen, gave us a great invitation. They provided our school with a couple boxes of paint and canvases and invited students to help make their new restaurant beautiful! The artwork is not only helping to make us right at home, but also is available for sale with 100% of the proceeds benefiting College Hills!

Join us in supporting College Hills at our Zoe's Kitchen Spirit Night on Thursday, November 16 from 5:00-9:00 PM. Zoe's Kitchen is located at 1099 University Dr #115. Enjoy a night out with the family and support our school at the same time!

Each year there is a brief time when families can help support other College Hills families in their time of need this holiday season. This is a great way to start the holidays with an emphasis on giving and in a way that makes a very specific difference.

Visit the office in the days following the Thanksgiving break to help our CHE staff with their giving tree. Our staff's giving tree displays items that are needed for a child at CHE and parents are welcome to assist staff in fulfilling these items. Please, choose a listed need to purchase and deliver before the staff's giving tree wrap up party. Alternatively, parents are also welcome to simply offer a cash donation to help support the effort.

College Hills participates in KBTX's food drive and that will take place right after Thanksgiving Break.

Many College Hills families will benefit from a local effort to provide holiday meals for those identified by school counselors and other local entities such as the Area Agency on Aging. This is a new group filling the need due to changes that recently left this annual tradition without adequate funding. Lend a hand and learn more at their facebook page:

The CSISD Education Foundation can help you give a meaningful gift to both your own teacher as well as make the dreams of all CSISD teachers come true! Learn more about their Star Educator program.

Also, the Books and a Blanket program is a nonprofit started by CHE siblings that benefits local children each Christmas. Please consider dropping off new and gently used books in the front office or at collection locations around town such as Blue Baker. Blankets that are new or made from new fabric are also collected. November is the busiest time of the year as they prepare for the early December deliveries.

Stay tuned for more details available immediately following the Thanksgiving Holiday.

There are just a few ways to help at this phase of our festival preparations, but we'll have more soon. We are always committed at CHE PTO to avoid burdening volunteers with large assignments. Please help us to keep these vital efforts lighter, by sharing the load.

Stay tuned to take home folders for how you can help soon! We are excited to work with you!

Do you know a generous local business that would appreciate an affordable and purposeful marketing opportunity?

As a Title 1 School, sponsorships help us to keep costs low so that ALL students can afford to participate in our festival. Whether it is donating a silent auction item or underwriting the event, all support is appreciated!

1. Paw Print Festival Event Sponsor
2. Donation to our Silent Auction
3. PPF Game Sponsorship

Please help us to share our brochure for specific sponsorship opportunities with B/CS businesses in your personal network. The brochure will be available soon at or by emailing

Congratulations 4th grade who won our recent Box Top contest!

With the contest tally below plus a few "e box tops" we've got a great check for roughly heading to College Hills in December. Those little $.10 donations really do add up! Please keep them coming all year and we'll work our way to another great check in the spring.

We are hoping to go more paperless in our communications. If it's important, we'll text you if you've signed up for remind with the PTO. Please note that many teachers also use remind. Be sure to sign up for each group.

We share even more info for parents through Facebook for the school here and for the PTO here. It is encouraged that parents toggle on "Get Notifications" on the top of our pages. Otherwise, many posts will not be included in your news feed without being boosted with an ad buy. We'd rather spend our money on the kids:)
