Central Avenue Elementary

Tonya Middling - Principal

Kristin Hillius - Assistant Principal

Dear Parents and Families,

Thank you for attending your child’s conference this past week and for completing our parent survey. We will be reviewing the results with staff tomorrow and hope to address any concerns that may have surfaced as a result. The preliminary data shows your child feels safe at school and many parents commented on the great job Central Avenue teachers and staff have done this year! Thank you for your kind words. It means so much to us after such a trying year! We hope you heard about what your child has accomplished despite all of the barriers! We are so proud of our students and the excellent work taking place here!

It’s not too late to sign up for the Summer Learning Program either. You can enroll your child by visiting our district website at: https://www.fpschools.org/2021-learning/summer-learning.

Our last day of school will be a half-day on June 22nd. Students will be dismissed at 12:05 p.m. The end of year always brings a time for fun and special events. We are planning a modified field day, virtual end of year assembly, and a 5th grade promotion parade! More details to follow.

Finally, we want to thank all of our service members and their families in observance of Memorial Day. We remember those who served, continue to serve, and those who gave their lives for the freedom of our country.

It’s great to be a WILDCAT!

Mrs. Middling

Principal & Assistant Principal Week

The end of May was Educational Bosses Week! We would like to thank our Principal, Mrs. Middling, and our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Hillius! This year has not been an easy transition for any of us, but their leadership and positive attitude have helped pull us through. Their dedication to our students shows and is much appreciated. We feel very fortunate to have you as our principals during these challenging times. Thank you so much for being such an impactful leader and motivating our students to strive for success daily. Strong leadership is the foundation of school success and without you that would not be possible. Thank you for setting high expectations for our students and educators. Never forget how amazing you are and how much of a difference you have made at this school! Thank you for all that you do. Please join us in thanking these very special people and let them know how much they are appreciated!

If your student will attend summer school, they still need to return their laptop and will be issued a device specifically for use during summer school.

Attention Parents of Students with District Releases

Now is the time to get your releases! The deadline for school choice/releases to have your children considered for placement at Midland next year is May 31st.

Out of District - If you live outside of the Franklin Pierce district boundaries please click here to submit your Choice Transfer form. Please note that if you live in the Bethel School District, you must contact them directly to get your release. Once you receive the release, you will need to send it to our office (Bethel does not automatically send it to us).

With-In District - If your child attended Midland on a within district transfer, please click here and complete the Within District Transfer Request form.

Overload students – If your child is currently enrolled at Midland on overload from another school in our district, you must enroll as soon as possible in your home school. This ensures that your child will be included in the spring placement process. Please remember that your child will be withdrawn from Midland at the end of the 2020-21 school year.

Daycare - If your child attends Midland for daycare purposes, the daycare forms can be located here.

2021-2022 Enrollment

We are currently registering new kindergarten through grade 5 students who live within our attendance boundaries or have daycare in our area. If you live outside of the Franklin Pierce Schools boundaries, and attend Central Avenue because of daycare, a district waiver form is needed from your home resident school district. Current students are automatically enrolled for next year. Enrollees must provide a copy of your child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residence. To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be five years of age by August 31, 2021. On-line registration is available on the district website. Click on the "Enroll for 2021-2022" button, and follow the steps.
