Happy Thanksgiving!

I think what I love about Thanksgiving, as it is my favorite holiday, is that it’s purely about getting together with friends or family and enjoying delicious food. It’s really a day for everybody, as it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from. Brookside School is thankful for the multitude of blessings that continually surround us each day.

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Brookside School, best wishes to all for a blessed Thanksgiving.

Big picture

Thanksgiving gatherings

The Kindergarten team learned about Thanksgiving. To celebrate, each class held their own feast with family and friends. Family members were treated to songs and poems performed by the students. Classes worked together to make special treats for everyone to share. Each group took time to show how thankful we are to be part of the wonderful Brookside Family.

Trees of Thanks

This is a great time of year to talk about gratitude and being thankful. Mix that with nonfiction, and you get amazing Trees of Thanks that Mr. Goldman's class has planted. Over the past week, we have talked about all the phenomenal things to be thankful for and then added those ideas to our leaves.

Helping Keep kids cozy

During this season of giving, we can all get that “Warm and Cozy” feeling by helping others stay warm this winter. Our amazing Brookside community is working to collect new hats and gloves/mittens of all sizes and children’s new winter pajamas to donate to local families. Please consider picking up one of these items while out doing your holiday shopping.

The collection will run from Monday, December 2, through Friday, December 13. Donations can be dropped off in the collection box by the main entrance of the building. Please contact Ms. Morales with any questions.

Feasting on cookies

Ms. Gilroy's kindergarten class had so much fun baking! With the help of some awesome volunteers, everyone worked together to bake some yummy cookies to enjoy at their Thanksgiving Feast!
