Background

Instead of learning how to read, Francisco herded his Father's pigs. He didn't have much of an education, but wanted to be a conqueror. As a boy, Francisco was a "swine handler" which meant he performed tricks with pigs. Francisco was born in Trujillo, Spain in the 1470.

Achievements

On September 13,1524, Francisco went on his first expedition departing from Panama. In 1535, Pizarro established the new city of Lima. In 1520, Francisco discovers the republic of Costa Rica. In 1528, Francisco discovered the land of Peru.

Impact on Today

He captured and conquered the Incan empire, if he didn't then the empire wouldn't be the way it is today. He also, discovered the Pacific Ocean, that helped the world to be where it is today.

Interesting Facts

In 1541, Francisco Pizarro is assassinated. In the 1520's Francisco backstabbed his partner Diego De Almargo, and it led to a civil war. He rose from nothing to fame and fortune.
