Students Leaving Campus/STUDENT CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT

We have had an increase in the number of students just leaving campus without checking out at attendance and without providing prior parent permission to leave campus. Here are a few reminders on the procedures that MUST be followed. Not following these procedures will result in an after-school detention.

  • Students are REQUIRED to check in and out of school through the Attendance Office.
  • Students may NOT leave the campus or building at any time or for any reason during the school day without checking out through the Attendance Office.
  • Parent/guardian: Parents/guardians listed on the enrollment card may check their students out. They must come to the front office with their photo ID.
  • Student self-checkout: Students who drive themselves may check out with parent permission. The parent/guardian must send written permission (email or note) for the student to check out and leave campus. Attendance may also call a parent to confirm before allowing the student to leave. This procedure applies to all students, even those who are 18, unless they are self-enrolled.

Student IDs

Students are required to wear their IDs at all times when inside the school building. Failure to have their ID visible will result in a detention. The name and picture on the ID may not be covered with stickers, etc.

If a student forgets their ID, they can report to the nearest AP office to get a temporary ID. Students may receive up to 6 free temporary IDs per six weeks. After 6 temporary IDs, the cost is $1. If a student receives 10 or more temporary IDs, they will receive a detention.

Thank you for complying with the Katy ISD and CRHS rules. Together we can provide a safe learning environment for everyone.

Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0

What is TSIA 2.0

The Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2) is a series of placement tests for students enrolling in public colleges and universities in Texas. The tests help Texas schools determine whether you’re ready for college-level courses in the areas of reading, writing, and math. Community colleges DO NOT require SAT or ACT, but if a student has SAT/ACT scores high enough they could be exempt from TSI

Students can exempt TSI with SAT/ACT scores:

ACT – minimum 19 on English; 19 on Math AND 23 total score

SAT- minimum 480 on Reading & Writing; 530 on Math

WHY do you need to take the TSI:

• You are attending a University/College/Community College that is IN the state of Texas

• On the SAT, you made less than a 480 on the English Based Reading & Writing Portion or less than a 530 on the Math portion

• On the ACT, you made less than a Composite score of 23: less than 19 on the English OR less than 19 on the Math portion

Register for TSIA 2.0 on March 1, 2023. Deadline to register is February 7, 2023 at the link below:
