No prior experience or special degree is needed, just an interest to volunteer for one hour a week during the school day. You will help an assigned student become a better reader. You will receive an initial training (mandatory) as a new volunteer and opportunities to attend workshops designed for literacy volunteers. Please spread the word to friends and neighbors.
If interested, please contact the South School Reading Specialist, Alberta Chirico, at firstname.lastname@example.org
ANDONA ART CONTEST!
BROADWAY CABARET AT AHS!
AVM is very excited to be able to put on an *in-person* Broadway Cabaret this year!
It’ll be on Friday October 15 at 7 PM at the Collins Center at Andover High School. Enjoy moments from both old and new Broadway musicals throughout the night. There will be solos, duets, small groups, and large group numbers… surely an event that you won’t want to miss! Chamber Choir, Nothin’ But Treble, Back to Bass-ics and From Start to Finish will all perform as well with selections from Next to Normal, A Bronx Tale, Hairspray, Hamilton and Matilda. This evening of celebrating the magic of live music will also include a 50/50 raffle in support of the Andover Vocal Music Scholarship Fund so don’t forget to bring some spending money. Also, don’t forget to bring a mask, as we all need to wear a mask while inside the Collins Center.
Tickets for the Cabaret are $12 for adults, $5 for students, and $8 for seniors. You can buy them ahead of time by clicking the link below or at the door.
