The Choir is singing in the 3rd annual Big Lake Parade on Saturday, December 1st. The Parade starts from Big Lake Elementary at 6:30PM, so choir students need to be at the school by 5:45PM in their cold weather gear. We will meet at the portable. The parade will end at the Big Lake Lions Recreation Center for caroling, cookies and hot cocoa and then open skate night. We look forward to seeing you along the parade route: Big Lake Road thru town, around the round-about, and Lions Ct to the recreation center.


On Tuesday, December 4th we will be performing our all-school concert at 6pm. Students are asked to be in their grade level hallway at 5:45pm.

Band students need to meet on the stage at 5:30pm with their music and instrument in black and white attire.

The PTO has some exciting events happening in December!!

  • We are happy to announce the new Polar Pals Gift Shop will open on Monday, December 3 and close Friday, December 7. This is a gift shop geared towards the children and they can shop and pick gifts for loved ones. There are a lot of cute items!! Most items are priced $1 - $5 and some up to $15. Flyers went home today so be on the lookout!

Students will also have the chance to shop the last 15 minutes of their library class time.

We are looking for volunteers to help kids shop!

  • We are proud to be hosting our first Holiday Bazaar December 15 from 10 - 4PM. If you would like to help with decorating or cleanup you can send a msg through our FB page or email We still have some hallway spaces available if you are an interested vendor! Check our FB page for updates.

  • The next Bazaar planning meeting will be Monday, December 3 at 4PM.



We are happy to announce the class winners of our canned food drive! Mrs. Roberts 5th grade and Ms. Service 4th grade classes are the winners and will be getting an ice cream party! Awesome job!!

Thank you for everyone's contribution to the Big Lake Community Food Pantry. The donations help families in our community.


A big THANK YOU to everyone who donated or participated in the Fill the Bus event. The Big Lake community is amazing. Enough food was donated for 15 complete Thanksgiving dinners plus an additional 5 families received turkeys. Thank you Big Lake community members for brightening the holiday weekend for these families!

The last day of school for students is Thursday, December 20. This ends the 2nd quarter and 1st semester.

School will start resume on Monday, January 7, 2019.
