Family Newsletter - September 26, 2022
Message from Mrs. Johnson
Fall is in the air! Well, sort of. The nights are definitely cooler, and that's a good start!
We are excited about the learning our students are gaining and can see the end of the first quarter approaching on October 13. Throughout this first quarter, learners are collecting work samples to share with you during the first student-led conferences the week of October 24.
Our high school students will have their very first demonstration of learning for their outdoor learning pathway on October 10 and 11, in which they will present their portfolios for scoring and their quarter grades. These students have been working hard on their inquiry-based learning projects on resource scarcity, collecting work samples demonstrating their mastery of skills and preparing for their presentations.
Coming up in October is our very first Spark High School Band concert! Students who have been practicing songs from the '80s and '90s will perform at Graner Music. Rumor has it that our very own Mr. Clarke and Ms. Brochey will also be performing solos for our enjoyment! Keep your eyes out for the date and time coming from Mr. Clarke!
We hope you can join us this Wednesday, September 28, from 6:30-8:30 for Open Observatory Night. The observatory on the Trailblazer campus is open to families with multiple activities for everyone. See details below for more information.
As always, thank you for your continued partnership and support in providing high-quality, learner-centered instruction and experiences to make the best possible future for our outstanding students.
Empowering learners every day,
Julie Johnson
