Did You Know?
- During the 2012-2013 school year, Librarians entered more than 70 classrooms to provide instruction sessions. Many sessions were tailor-made specifically for course research projects.
- Summer 2013 was an extremely busy time with the library renovation, but also with Interlibrary Loan. To date, 108 (and counting) Interlibrary Loan requests from faculty and students on both the North Manchester campus and at the Pharmacy School have been submitted.
New & Exciting
FYS Library Tutorial Series
All FYS students are now required to complete a series of library instruction video modules (with corresponding assessments) within their FYS D2L course. Modules set a "beginner" research foundation. All videos used within this series can be found on the FYS Course Guide. (Please feel free to link these to ANY of your courses - and give Rebecca Johnson feedback on how they're working for your students. These videos will be a continual work in progress!).
QR Code Scavenger Hunt
During orientation, first-year students will be introduced to Funderburg Library by way of a mobile device QR code scavenger hunt. Pictures will appear soon on the library's Facebook page.
Database spotlight: ebrary
As of April 2013, Funderburg Library's ebrary e-book content jumped to nearly 85,000 titles. From the image above, you can see the wide range of subject material covered with options for nearly every discipline that Manchester offers.
As a bonus, ebrary makes content available on Android and Apple devices for easy research connectivity.
To access ebrary from the Funderburg Library homepage, click the A-Z List of Databases link.
Just for fun
The Funderburg Library "family" has grown +1! Librarian Rebecca Johnson's baby girl Ellie is now 5 months old.
