Dear Parents and Caregivers,
On April 4, 2023, Kindergarten - 5th grade, Fisher Elementary students will be participating in a lesson or presentation on anti-victimization during their guidance time.
Kinder-2nd grade: Our students will be visited by the Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center’s Kids Count Players Puppet Show on April 4th. If you do not give permission for your child to attend their presentation, they will not be able to participate. You can preview the program that will be presented by watching this VIDEO. Thank you for taking the time to review and fill out the form below.
3rd-5th grade: I (Mrs. Garwacki) will be presenting the Anti-victimization lesson to students during their guidance time on April 4th. You may preview the lesson here: Personal Safety Lesson
In accordance with (Texas Education Code §38.004b) elementary and secondary schools are required to provide anti-victimization instruction to students.
Below are the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Health Education that will be taught during this lesson.
Knowledge and skills include:
Injury and violence prevention and safety
Healthy relationships and conflict-resolution skills
The student will:
differentiates between healthy and unhealthy relationships and demonstrates effective strategies to address conflict by:
· Identify roles and characteristics of a trusted adult.
· Identify and role play refusal skills such as saying “no” to protect personal space and to avoid unsafe situations.
· Identify personal space and appropriate boundaries.
Please complete this THIS FORM in order for your child to participate in this state required lesson. Please complete by March 28,2023.
If you do not wish for your child to participate, they will be provided with an alternate activity during guidance time.
