February 2016

Happy Valentine's Day!

The morning classes will have a Valentine card exchange on both Thursday and Friday, February 11th & 12th. If your child does not normally attend on Thursday or Friday, you may switch days for the week, bring your cards another day for teachers to pass out, or you may opt out. Any option is fine, but please let us know your preference. If you attend BOTH Thursday and Friday, you can participate in one or both days. Plan on bringing 10-12 cards on Thursday and 14-16 cards on Friday.

Afternoon class will have their exchange on Wednesday, the 10th. Plan on bringing 6 cards for this class.

We do encourage children to sign their names on their cards. If your child is still learning to write their name, perhaps they can write the first letter and you can finish. We recommend that you pace yourself over the next couple of weeks instead of signing all of them in one night. Please address the cards "To: My Friend."

We'll celebrate in school with the card exchange and by making some special snacks for our animal friends outside.

President's Day

Just a reminder that we are closed on Monday, February 15th for President's Day.

Family Survey

Check your emails next week for a link to complete a family survey. Your opinions really matter to us. We love hearing how the program is working for your family as well as for some constructive comments on how we can improve. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes of your time. Thank you in advance for taking the time to let us know how we are doing.

February and March are very muddy months on our playground. With the ground thawing and the grass still dormant, mud is just about everywhere. We recommend wearing/bringing boots daily in the spring, even if it isn't raining, until the grass greens up.

New Family

We'd like to welcome Campbell Matthew and his family to Natureplay this month. We had Campbell's older sister, Eliza, at Natureplay this summer. Welcome back to Natureplay!

Show and Tell

Please see below for the Show and Tell Schedule for February. This month, bring something red!
