A Newsletter for Central Elementary School Staff

For the Week of April 19 through April 25, 2015


  1. mCLASS and ISTEP+ testing starts this week. Please remind students to be very quiet in the hallways. Please keep your doors closed during the next three weeks to help keep hallways quiet. Starting next week, both computer labs will must used constantly so we will need to be quiet around the labs while students take their ISTEP+ tests online.
  2. IREAD-3 Results - IREAD-3 results were mailed home to 3rd grade students this past Friday, April 17, 2015.
  3. Walkathon is this Friday, April 24th. If you have any questions about Walkathon, please let me know. We will have an awards ceremony in the gym at 1:30 pm on Friday, April 24th.

  4. Staff Meetings - For our Tuesday, April 21st staff meeting, I will be meeting kindergarten, first, and second grade teachers in the library at 7:30 am to discuss Team Time, what works, and what we need to change. Teachers in other grade levels do not need to attend this meeting.

  5. Our April fire drill will be on Thursday, April 23rd at 2:55 pm.

  6. Grade Level Teams - If you have not emailed me the name of a team member who will represent your grade on our School Improvement Team, please do so as soon as possible.

  7. Four Star Status - I know that you received Mr. Olinger's email about the schools that have been identified as Four Star Schools for the 2013-14 school year and that you may wonder why we are not on the list. On Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 8:00 am in the LGI Room, I will briefly walk anyone interested through the process and let you know what our next steps are to meet this goal. This is an optional meeting.

  8. Our Food Rescue Program is going well so far. Please remind your students to eat all of their lunch. We can only take school lunch items in their original wrappers that are unopened.
