Scholastic Book Fair Winners
Congratulations to our Scholastic Book Fair winners!!! Thanks to everyone who came out to support our Learning Commons - we sold over $2500 of merchandise this year!
Wanted: Library Helpers
The learning commons is looking for students who would like to get involved in their school community.
As a Library Helper, students may be responsible for shelving books, checking in material, making book recommendations to other students, creating book displays, reading to students and working with technology. Library Helpers represent the library, so, they will be expected to treat others with respect and maintain a positive attitude.
Since Library Helpers will be missing one language class each cycle, they will be responsible for completing one of the assignments below. This assignment will be marked and used towards their language mark.
Scary Story Contest
Scare up a spooky tale or a shivery story and enter the Edenwood Ghost Story Writing Contest! Write a terrifying tale and send it to Ms. Wilson by Tuesday October 29th. A panel of gruesome judges will award first, second and third place. The winners will be announced on Halloween. Stories must be no longer than 500 words.
Book Review Contest
Who doesn't love a contest? Write a review for a book you read and you could win a prize! Each month, one review will be chosen at random and the writer of that review will be awarded a prize! Come to the learning commons to learn more.
Also, just a reminder that you are welcome to place a Scholastic order online or through Ms. Wilson.

Class Checkouts
During library orientations, a challenge was given to all Grade 7 classes - the homeroom with the most book sign-outs before Winter Break will be given a free period in the library. To find out how your class is doing, see the chart below:
