MakerSpace Club
Southside's MakerSpace Club meets the 1st Tuesday of each month to create and play with tech and crafts. This month, the MakerSpace Club is participating in the global Cardboard Challenge. This has been opened up to all students. Students can bring their cardboard creations to the library on Monday, October 10th after we return from intercession. If you have a skill you would like to share with the MakerSpace Club, such as cooking, gardening, knitting, painting, etc. please reach out to Mrs. Dawkins via email at adawkins@fsd1.org.
Gaming Club
Southside's Gaming Club meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month to play computer, video, and board games. This club offers a safe space for students to engage in fellowship after school once a month. We are in need of supplies. If you have any gaming equipment you can donate, it would be greatly appreciated.
Book Club
Southside's Book Club meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month to share our selections through discussions and student fellowship. Teachers and parents are also welcome to participate. For this month's theme, students selected horror/mystery/thriller.
Battle of the Books
Southside has named this year's Battle of the Books Team. Congratulations to Anna Danford, Cailin Foxworth, Ella Lewis, McCall Gregg, Isabella McJunkin, and Bryson Thomas. Students are currently reading South Carolina Junior Book Award Nominees for 2022-2023. The first competition is scheduled for October 18th against Moore Middle School.
