What do Fertilizers Do?
Fertilizers help us in many ways. The main thing they do is they help crops grow bigger and faster. Fertilizer also help crops provide bigger yields because they prevent diseases in the crops. Fertilizers also provide plants with essential chemical elements needed for growth particularly nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.
What are Fertilizers Made of?
Fertilizers contain the minerals nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which helps the plants grow. Most chemical fertilizers are made by the reaction of an acid with an alkali.
How are Fertilizers Used?
Typically fertilizers are applied either to the soil (for uptake by plant roots) or by foliar feeding. (for uptake through the plants leaves).
