TWO FACES OF REFORM
What do we mean when we say we want better schools?
Join Berwyn C.A.R.E.S. for a conversation about the future of education.
What's your idea of a good school? A functional school system? What would you like to see here in Berwyn?
For our winter book club, we'll be discussing The Same Thing Over and Over by Frederick M. Hess along with Reign of Error by Diane Ravitch. These recent books on education policy tackle issues like school choice, charter schools, teacher quality, standards and assessment, and school curriculum. Each provides a different take on how communities, our state, and our nation can best support great schools for all children.
Don't have time to read the books?
That's okay! If you can pre-read, great, but if not, we'll provide a recap, book reviews, and video clips to make sure you can take part in the conversation.
You're invited!
Sunday, January 27, 3-5 p.m. at 3135 Maple St.
Education reform is a national debate, but it's citizens like you who shape the issues and set the policies for local schools. Be part of a community that takes seriously its responsibility to educate young people, through an open and reflective exchange of ideas.
