What did we do in class today?
Math: Today students will continue their work with systems of equations - using equations to solve word problems. Students will assess their learning about solving systems of equations on our Unit 5, Quiz 3 today. ANNOUNCEMENT: We will take our Unit 5: Linear Equations test on Friday.
ELA: Today students are reading and analyzing texts in groups to determine the author's purpose of the text, a statement in the text that helped them to determine the author's purpose, and then determine who is the intended audience of the passage. After discussing their group responses, we took a formative assessment about author's purpose using the test taking strategy we learned and practiced Monday and Tuesday.
ELA (Mrs. Brown): Stuents had a spelling test today. They also practiced their reading fluency and worked on identifying degrees of words.
Social Studies: Students are continuing to learn about Westward Expansion: Slavery and Cotton
