How to Read Rhythms
- I can hear and chant rhythm patterns with quarter notes and eighth notes
- I can clap or play rhythms on a drum (or found object).
- I can string rhythms patterns together to create longer phrases and perform keeping a steady beat.

Jazz History: Scott Joplin
- I can recall details and reflect about historical jazz musicians.
- I can identify musical roles.
- I can compare and contrast two songs.
Scott Joplin was one of the most influential composers in the early history of jazz.
He was born in 1868 in Texarcana, TX and was best known for writing Ragtime music for piano.
