Principal's Quarterly Newsletter to Parents

Hello!

Parents and Guardians!

This is our first ever edition of our quarterly newsletter! My goal for this newsletter is to share some of the events, activities, and programs going on in the middle school. I appreciate you taking the time to read the information and stay informed about the many great things (often times too much to print :O) happening in our middle school.

Panther Time

Parents, we have started a new intervention and enrichment program at the middle school, which we are calling Panther Time! Each week, on Wednesdays and Thursdays, students may have the option of selecting an enrichment activity or be placed in an intervention section. Students demonstrating academic success get an opportunity to choose a learning opportunity in a class where they can try something new or experience an extension of the content. Students who may need some assistance in a class are selected by their teacher to get more individualized support in a specific skill area. We rotate the four core content class, math, english, science, and social studies each week to have priority so those teachers know they will have first access to the students. We are hearing great things about this program from our students and excited about this support program.

Tutoring Opportunities

If your student needs some additional support outside the school day, we offer tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:15.

Students will have opportunities to work with teachers who can assist with needed content areas, such as math, science, social studies and English.

Transportation is not provided after school for students. Please coordinate for rides or confirm with the tutor the student will be walking home.
