I.T.S. a Tech Update
January 2020
EPISD Apple ID's
Greetings everyone,
Happy New Year 2020! We hope all of you had a very safe and relaxing break and have come back to work invigorated and ready to finish what you have started. There is so much going on during the second half of the year that sometimes it's hard to find a place to start. As always, concentrate your energy on that initial first day back to listen to your students and hear their wonderful stories and adventures. You will see there is a ton of change. For some reason, after the winter break is when we see so much growth.
So last year when passing out laptops to all teachers we kept talking about the fact that you would soon be receiving a district Apple ID that would give you 200GB of storage, plus an easier way to collaborate amongst yourselves and with your students. Well, that time has come. From now on, you will be able to use your EPISD email and password to sign in to your district Apple ID and take advantage of the expanded storage space, plus collaboration tools on your district-issued MacBook Air laptop.
Check out the video below to learn how to log in to your new, iCloud Apple ID. If you have any questions, please contact your Instructional Technology Specialist.
Teleprompt.me
One of the most difficult things to do when recording is remembering the lines, or scripts of your story or announcements. If students have a script in their hand then all they will do is look down and read the script which will affect appearance and audio.
There is a program out there called Telepromt.me that students and teachers can use to copy and paste their script and have it scroll like a live news teleprompter. It is actually voice activated! All you have to do is hook up your computer to a portable television monitor and record your video using your iPad, or professional camera. It's that easy! Check out the video below on how to use this great program.
