Happy Friday!
We have concluded our fall conferences and I hope you all enjoyed the time that you had with our amazing teachers whether it was in-person or via Zoom. As you all know we are headed into the hybrid model starting on Monday, October 19th. Group A will be in the building from 8-10:30 am on Monday and Tuesday and Group B will attend school Thursday and Friday. All students will be remote at home on Wednesday. I realize that there is a lot of information being sent in your direction, especially if you have children in multiple buildings. However, we want to make sure you are well-informed as we start our new adventure. Below is a video and graphics of pertinent information. If you have any questions please reach out to the main office, to your teachers, or to me directly.
Have a great weekend!

Morning Arrival - Dismissal - Covid-19 Symptom Screener Procedures
General expectations at home in the morning
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
Families will be expected to complete the COVID-19 symptom screening Web App at home every morning for each student that will be attending in-person instruction at school that day. This cannot be completed the night before. Responding to the questions in the symptom screening Web App should be completed at home before the student boards a school bus or is dropped off at the school. After all the questions have been answered and submitted, the Web App will indicate if the student is able to come to school or should remain at home.
When students arrive at school
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
All students will check-in upon arrival at the school to ensure that the COVID-19 symptom screening app has been completed & that the student’s responses to the questions indicate that they may attend school that day. This will be done prior to the student being permitted to enter the school building.
Staff members will be assigned outside the school building each morning at bus and parent drop-off locations. Staff will scan each student’s ID card in to have students check-in prior to entering the building. Students being dropped off by a parent should be prepared to have their student ID card ready to be scanned by a staff member when they exit the car. Children riding the bus should have their student ID card ready to be scanned by a staff member when they step off the bus. Once checked-in by a staff member by scanning the ID card, students will then enter the school building, sanitize their hands, and proceed directly to their homeroom with their belongings. Lockers will not be utilized at this time.
What happens if the Web App has not been completed?
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
If during outside check-in, it is determined that the student has not completed the app at home, the child will be directed to the check-in tent for further assistance provided by one of our staff or an administrator before being permitted to enter the building. The staff member or the administrator at the check-in tent will determine the concern and will attempt to resolve the issue. For students in grades PreK-2, a phone call will be made to the parent or guardian in order to complete the COVID-19 Screening Web App. Once the parent provides the necessary information, the student will be allowed to enter the school. For students in grades 3-12, the student will be asked the screening questions by our staff members in order to complete the check-in process.
What happens if the Web App indicates that the child should not be at school?
____________________________________________________________________________________________
If during outside check-in, it is determined that the student completed the Web App but based on the answers provided should not attend school that day, the child will be directed to the check-in tent for further assistance provided by one of our staff. The staff member or the administrator at the check-in tent will determine the next steps for the child, such as making arrangements for parent pick-up or determining if an error was made when answering the screening questions.
Dismissal

What does the end of the day look like?
When the day ends for students who are attending in-person on their assigned days, they will be released in a systematic order. We will start with the students on the 1st floor of the building. This includes all Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd-grade students. The front office will call for all circle drive pickups to be released first to the parent pick-up location on the east side of the building. Staff will monitor the halls and outside for pick-up. There will be x’s located in the circle drive area for students to stand 6 feet from one another until they enter into their parent's car. Parents need to place a sign on the passenger side of their vehicle to help staff identify the parent/guardian that is picking the student up each day.
After the circle drive is released, the teacher will walk the remaining students to the buses and get them loaded onto their designated bus. The same process will follow for the students that are on the 2nd floor of the building. This includes all 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th-grade students.
