Monday 20/2/2017 - Friday 24/2/2017

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that you all had a wonderful half term!

I would like to thank you again for bringing your incredible children back to school and sharing them with us once again. The children had lots of stories to share about their holidays and were full of smiles coming back to school.

We have endured some quite unpleasant weather this week, especially at playtimes. As I write Storm Doris has caused our first wet playtime for a while. We did manage to get out eventually and the children enjoyed running around in the afternoon wind!

On Monday Year 5 began growing their own potatoes. Their scientific experiments look very interesting and we cannot wait to see the results of all of their hard work. Reverend Julie came into assembly and spoke about being quiet and listening. It was a wonderful way to start the week and we enjoyed the quiet in our assembly time.

On Tuesday there was so much learning taking place all around our school. In Year 4 the children were discovering the features of adverts from a variety of magazines. In time they will be designing and producing their own adverts. We look forward to seeing these! Year 5 were also fortunate enough to have the local fire brigade come into school to talk about fire safety in the home. Well done Year 5 for listening attentively.

Our Wednesday included an assembly from Vision for Kids, dodgeball coaching for Year 3, Cheerleading training for some lucky children and our first team football training.

The excitement carried on into Thursday with tri-golf, coding club and inclusion kurling! Phew!

We ended our week of learning and fun with our Celebration and Sharing of learning assembly. Thank you to all of the parents and carers who came. I think our audience was the largest it has ever been!

Well done for a wonderful week everyone!

Have a wonderful weekend. I look forward to seeing all of those Monday smiles!

With respect,

Mr Neil Ringrose
