School Closure for the Remainder of the 2019-2020 School Year

As you know, the Governor has declared that schools are to be closed for the remainder of the school year. We are sad that we won't have the opportunity to end the year with our students who will be going to McElwain Elementary or Junior High in the fall, but we are supportive of the decision to protect our families by having school closed for the remainder of the year. We will continue to provide online instructions for our students.

In addition, information will be coming soon about picking up personal items from the school and returning library books and technology. Students who have all A's, A&B's and Perfect Attendance will also still receive awards and yearbooks will be able to be picked up when they arrive.

We will continue to look for ways to connect with our students and families, and appreciate all of the ways you are showing support for your students and their teachers.

You may have seen this on social media, and I believe the words are so true!

We miss our Bison!

Mrs. Lowery

Week 5 Learning!

Please visit to access your child’s Week 5 Activity Boards.

Remember that the district choice boards are also available if your student needs additional activities. Our goal is to provide learning and enrichment for our students without creating undue stress on families during this already stressful time.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your child's teacher.

A Note from Our Counselors:

Hello, Bethke Bison!

We want to take this opportunity to reach out and let everyone know that we are here to support everyone in our Bison community. Each week in the Bison Bulletin, we will provide short yet relevant information from our district and a link to request to speak with a counselor. A social-emotional learning lesson will be added to the Bethke Weekly Learning Choice Board beginning the week of April 13.

We love and miss our Bison herd and are here to support you J

30 Day Kindness Challenge!

The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted us all in a variety of ways. To combat this challenging time, we are encouraging students and staff to participate in 30 Days of Kindness beginning on Monday, April 6, 2020. Kindness will not stop the spread of the virus, but the hope is to brighten someone’s day and add some positivity to our lives and community. In a time where physical distancing is required, social and emotional connectedness is even more vital to a person’s well-being.

To spread kindness more widely, share pictures and posts using the hashtags #deepkindness, #KatyCommUNITY, and #KatyStrong. We would like to highlight students and staff across the district for their participation in the 30 Days of Kindness. See the challenges below for the first 7 days!

Evening Meals at MRHS

Dear Katy ISD Parents/Guardians and Staff,

On Monday, April 13, the BE A CHAMPION (BAC) organization will begin distributing grab and go meals at the front entrance of Morton Ranch High School. The late day meal service is offered Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or until supplies last. All children are eligible to participate in the free meal program. BAC meals are individually packaged, and the ‘Grab and Go’ drive thru service does not require a family member to get out of their car.

BE A CHAMPION INC was founded in 2001 by James Hong and Jaron Barganier, a Mayde Creek High School graduate. BAC is a sports, education and nutrition outreach program designed to support Houston area youth that may be in need.

Questions regarding the meal program, please call BAC at 281-833-3129 or email at
