AHS Tiger Tales
September 25 - September 29, 2023
Message from Dr. Pignato
September is Attendance Awareness month!
We want to emphasize the crucial role attendance plays in your child’s high school journey. Regular attendance is more than just a requirement; it’s a pathway to success. When students attend school consistently, they have the opportunity to engage, learn, and grow. Missing even a few days can have a significant impact on their academic progress and social development.
Here are a few key reasons why attendance matters:
1. Learning Continuity: Each day in class builds upon the previous one. Consistent attendance ensures your child doesn’t miss out on important lessons, discussions, and assignments.
2. Social Connections: Attending school regularly helps students forge friendships and develop social skills, which are essential for their personal growth.
3. Academic Achievement: Research shows a strong correlation between attendance and academic success. Students who attend school regularly tend to achieve better grades and are more likely to graduate on time.
4. Future Opportunities: High school is a critical stepping stone toward college and career readiness. Good attendance habits instilled now will benefit your child in their future endeavors.
We encourage you to support your child’s attendance by establishing a routine, communicating with teachers, scheduling travel with our school calendars in mind, and addressing any barriers to attendance promptly. Together, we can ensure that your child maximizes their high school experience and sets a solid foundation for a bright future.
Thank you for your partnership in your child’s education.
