HELLO PARENTS AND STUDENTS!!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I am glad to see everyone back in school. It is a new week and that means new things will be happening this week. We have a full schedule this week. We have new material to cover in class, a fun field trip , and other fun activities that will be taking place this week.

Yeeehaaww!!!The Rodeo is in Town!!!!

The Houston Livestock Rodeo and Show is in town and our school is happy to announce that our pre-K students have been chosen to attend the rodeo and carnival for one day.

We welcome and encourage parents and/or guardian to come join us on this fun and exciting day.

Spring Break Picnic

CARE Elementary will be hosting a Spring Break Picnic:

When: Friday, March 14, 2014

Where: Kitty Hollow Park

Time: 4:30P.M to 6:30P.M.

Family and Friends are welcomed. We will have food, games, raffles, and much more. We hope to see you there

Open House

Care Elementary is excited to announce our third parent/teacher conference of the school year. The open house will be held:

When: Wednesday, March 12, 2014.

Time: 5:30 P.M to 7:30 P.M.

We hope to see all parents there. Refreshments will be served in the cafeteria.

What are we Learning in Class this Week

In math, we will be learning how to use location words, such as “above” and “under”. Students will be required to work with a peer and locate items seen “above” and “under” student’s desks.


In social studies, we will read a book about community workers (i.e. cops, fire fighters) in our city. We will then discuss the roles and duties of these workers.


In science, using images and short movies we will be learning the different characteristics of organisms, living things. Students will then be required, with a peer to discuss and identify some of the living things discussed in the classroom.


In reading, we will read the Peter the Rabbit. We will discuss the storyline. Students will then be required, with one or two peers to re- enact a short part of the story.

This Week’s Highlights

Monday: Today we are learning about location words.


Tuesday: Today we learning about living organisms.


Wednesday: Today we are re- enacting scenes from Peter the Rabbit.


Thursday: Today we are going on a field trip to the Livestock and Rodeo Show.


Friday: Today we are having community workers guest speakers.
