The goal of the T-Stem Library is to encourage reading by providing a safe environment where literary discussion can take place in a casual but respectful manner.
Author Visit - Viola Canales
Viola Canales is an American writer originally from McAllen, Texas. She has published a short story collection, Orange Candy Slices and Other Secret Tales (2001), and a novel, The Tequila Worm (2005), for which she won the Pura Belpré Award in 2006. Viola Canales read, shared some of her experiences and answered questions.
TX Teen Book Festival
3rd Annual trip to St. Edward's University was a great learning experience for our students. They were able to meet authors, attend sessions and tour the university.
Bright Summer Readers
Peace, Love and Read was the theme for the Bright Summer Readers Award ceremony. Ariana Bravo, Maria Blanco, Julia Sepulveda and Cassandra Garcia were the top readers for T-Stem. All participants were treated to Breakfast with the Principal.

Library Card Drive
City of Pharr Library will be hosting a library card drive on October 14, 2015 during the lunch periods, in the cafeteria.
McAllen Book Festival
The McAllen Book Festival is designed expressly for children and teens! It will be held at the Main Library and is a free event open to the public featuring a diverse group of national, regional and local youth authors who will participate in readings, panel discussions, and book signings.
