Dear Noddin Community,
Friday was an exciting day on the Noddin campus...fall picture day! Being able to book this in a safe and fun way brought lots of joy to the students and staff. Thank you to our parent volunteers and Lifetouch for making this happen for Noddin Elementary!
This Friday is our first Noddin H&SC meeting. If interested in attending, please complete the Google form further down in this newsletter to request ZOOM information. We are looking forward to discussing how we can fundraise and offer student programs in creative ways! Speaking of fundraising, please see how you can easily donate to Home and School Club to support the students and programs at Noddin!
Teachers across all grade-levels are assessing students and forming groups for differentiated small-group instruction. In the meantime, it's been amazing to see the wonderful teaching and learning already taking place: book studies, Writer's Workshop, and small group math instruction are happening daily! In the upcoming weeks, we'll be tackling our social-emotional learning curriculums and welcoming in-person music class for the first time since March 2020!

We are pleased to share that we are partnering with healthcare professionals to provide regular, optional testing at USD schools starting Sept. 27, 2021. Click here for more information, a recording of the community webinar from Wednesday, and forms.
New program added: Band! Before school on Mondays, starting Oct. 4. Also available: robotics, tennis, basketball, pickleball, and chess!

For Parents of English Learners - DELAC Meeting - Sept. 15 @ 3:15pm
Parents of English Learners-please save the date! Our next District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) meeting will be held next week on September 15 from 3:15-4:15 pm on Zoom. We will be presenting information about the ELPAC and upcoming parent workshops, and our teacher leaders from our district EL Committee will share updates from each of their school sites. We hope to see you there!
Our community liaison, Paulina, will be simultaneously translating the meeting for our Spanish speaking parents.

Important Reminders Regarding School Safety
Now that we have returned in-person, we need to return to pre-campus closure campus safety measures. This is for the safety of everyone!
Gilda Way: At dismissal, please do not pick-up in the street, park in red zones, or stop to wait for a parking spot. These are safety hazards and backs up traffic. If exiting the school parking lot, it's a right turn only onto Gilda Way.
Adults and Students: Please do not bike, scoot, or skateboard through the parking lot or on busy sidewalks during dismissal and drop-off. When walking, please stay on the sidewalks.
Dogs are not allowed on campus, including the parking area, grass, and walkways leading to the school. The school campus begins where the public sidewalk ends. If walking a dog while dropping-off or picking up, you must remain on the public sidewalk.
Do not temporarily park or stop in the red zone/fire zone by the Kinder/PreK playground.
I know this is an attractive spot for our PreK - 2nd grade families, but this area must stay clear to others, as well as preventing traffic backing up onto the street (Gilda Way). If you are trying to access this area of the school, drive all the way down the white pick-up/drop-off zone that runs along the front of the school. Drop off your student on the passenger side and an adult supervisor will escort your student.
You may also park near the school and walk from that point.
Please do not park or pick-up in the parking lot. Use the drop-off/pick-up zone.
