Principals' Update
Greetings MacArthur Families,
Happy December Everyone! We hope you had a great week and a wonderful Thanksgiving. This week our students' returned to MacArthur energetically and were eager to reconnect with teachers and friends. This week's Book Fair was a big success! Thank you to Mrs. South for coordinating and for the generosity of families who donated to our school e-wallet to ensure all students were able to get a book.
Today, Grade 3 students enjoyed a rainforest reptile presentation from Rainforest Reptile Shows. This enrichment presentation was a highlight for many as the students had the opportunity to see a tortoise, a lizard, a boa constrictor, and an alligator. Thank you to the PTO for supporting bringing this enrichment presentation for our students.
This year, MacArthur is working with Safe Routes to School to review our arrival and dismissal procedures. We are gathering information from families using this two minute survey regarding how your child gets to school. https://masaferoutessurvey.org/srtssurvey/ Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. If more than half of our families participate, the school will be awarded a safety incentive package from the state!
Our lost and found continues to grow. Thank you for reviewing the pictures here and encouraging your child(ren) to come in and grab their belongings. If you would like to stop by to see the items in person, please check in with Ms. Santana and our security desk upon arrival. Thank you for taking the time to label your children's coats, hats, water bottles, sweatshirts, lunch boxes, and gloves to help make sure lost items become found items. All materials will be donated following the Winter Concert.
Finally, our Winter Concert is less than three weeks away! K-2 students will perform at 9:15am. Grades 3-5 will begin at 10:15am. Carpooling is encouraged, as the parking lot fills up early. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, December 20th for this special event!
Have a wonderful weekend!
