I am a student who doesn't want gaps in her learning
In the past I have mostly be influenced by my mother and counselor. My mother and I just recently started to get along but she has taught me so much about family and love. My counselor I accredit to saving my life. She taught me so much coping with situations that I thought tough to handle. I will never be able to repay either of these women for everything that they've done for me.
My most significant experience was dealing with depression for a large period of middle and high school. This battle with the darkest part of myself has shaped me into the girl I am today. It was one of the most difficult things I've ever had to get through but it has made me SO much stronger and equipped me with life skills to not only help myself, but others going through the same thing
Who am I now and who do I hope to be?
I am planning to graduate from College of Charleston with my BA in Psychology and continue onto graduate school with a focus in clinical and counseling psychology.
I hope to make a difference by helping people, changing the life of even just one person, to make them believe that they have so many reasons to stay on this Earth. To help them get through their problems, not just be their counselor but also their friend; someone that they can always go to.
In the long run, I really hope to travel with my significant other, get married, and have children. By no means will it need to be perfect, I am very well expecting twists and turns.
