November 2021 Family Update

From the Principal ~

Hello November!

I can't believe we just completed our 1st quarter of the school year already.

I am so excited to host and welcome all of our BRMES families to an in person or a virtual parent teacher conference on November 11th or 12th. Sign up here for your own 15 minute block of time or call us if you need help.

You are also invited to contribute a box or bag of cereal this month as our 5th Grade Student Council will lead and teach us the joy of giving in our cereal drive. All donated cereal will be donated to our local food bank.

I am so thankful for your support with our COVID Safety Practices:

  • Drop Off & Pick Up through the drive up lane only (no need to park or get out of your vehicle) ~ Pull forward as far as possible when dropping off and picking up your child(ren).
  • Keep those sick kids home.
  • Call our office with any confirmed positive COVID results. This allows us to begin our contact tracing process and verify the results. Families will be notified if we believe your child has been exposed to a positive student or staff member at school. You can check our confirmed cases on the district website weekly here under 'announcements'.
  • Face Coverings are mandatory for everyone in the building during school hours. We encourage you to read CDC guidelines for face covering specifics.
  • Call in change of going home plans by 2:30 daily so we have time to get a message to your child(ren) and teacher.

Take a moment this month to appreciate what you are most thankful for. I am especially grateful for your continued support at BRMES and all of the new interested substitutes applying to join our team as a sub!

Principal

Meet Mr. D ~ Counselor

Mr. Davydov (Mr. D.) is our BRMES school guidance counselor. He works with students to ensure they are enjoying school and accessing their education to the best of their ability. The social and emotional well-being of students is his foremost priority. By utilizing a comprehensive Response to Behavioral Intervention (RTBI) program that is bolstered by an evolving Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) system, Mr. Davydov can help parents, teachers, and students make data-based decisions to successfully accomplish students' social and emotional goals.

Check ins with students, group and individual counseling sessions, and classroom discussions are some of the activities that Mr. D. uses on a regular basis. Counseling sessions can include training in friendship skills, anxiety mitigation, executive functioning, divorce, or grieving issues.

Contact Mr. D. at ydavydov@mdsd.org for any counselling needs.
