Standing Bear Tuesday Message

Weekly Updates...
Staff,
I hope that everyone had time to relax over the long weekend.
I appreciate everyone who completed the survey I put out. I have read through the responses and will share with you the main or common comments. I will continue to work on those concerns, please keep open communication with me. I believe that we are a team and we need to work together to move forward.
*Things we are doing well
-Behavior issues are better and those are being addressed consistently
-Calmer in the cafeteria
-Staff works together as a team, supportive, flexible when needing to adjust times/specials
-Jeans Days
* Things to improve on:
-Online Calendar (easier access for staff, updated events)
-Communication of upcoming events
-Communication from PTO
-Updates from me on what is working or not
-MTSS-B information
-- Communication changes I can make right now :
* Below is a link to the SB Master Calendar. I will add information there also. I ask that staff add in any relevant information there as well (field trips, etc) so we are all aware.
* Schedule regular meeting times/grade level meetings with early childhood and paras. I try to value everyone's time, so I don't schedule meetings with certain groups if the information does not pertain to them.
* Discuss with PTO communication options
* Changes for 2020-21
-Dismissal
-PTO- teacher voice heard more
- specific feedback on how you are doing

COACHING
Sharing what we do...
Coaching is part of my evaluation as a new principal. There will be days that I will have my supervisor, Dr. Talbott, come to Standing Bear to coach with me. Often times, John Chvatal or Suzanne Pike may be with us as well, as they support Standing Bear. This is a common practice to have a group coaches together, this is called Coaching Calibration. This allows us to discuss the coaching visit and give feedback to the classroom teachers. I don't want anyone to stress if we walk into your classroom, resume instruction as normal. This is more for my goals and evaluation. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.
