Hello & Welcome to the New School!
New School naming underway - We need your help!
Welcome to the WSD's New Elementary School!
Good Morning,
We are honored to be serving you as your new administrative team. It is with overwhelming joy and excitement that we are embarking on this new journey together with you. We value your opinion and insight in the development of our school community, its needs, and our future work together. We are looking forward to getting to know you better and making plans to partner with you to support the innovative learning needs of our children.
We believe education is a collaborative effort, enhanced with open communication. Together, each family and staff member plays a vital role in developing a love of learning in all children. We are committed to partnering with all members of the community to focus on academic excellence and cultivate strong community partnerships to empower our students to grow and reach their full potential.
Let us take the opportunity to introduce ourselves:
My name is Dr. Candice M. Belton and I am beyond excited to embark upon this new journey as your principal! One of the things that excites me the most is getting the opportunity to know more about each and every one of you. My friends and family always tell me that, “I have never met a stranger,” meaning that everyone I meet is just one “hello” away from being my next friend. I am not quite sure how much my amazing husband Michael enjoys all of these encounters, since it makes our frequent trips to Aldi quite a bit longer. I can’t help myself because I truly value what other people have to offer and I am always amazed at what I am able to learn from others.
My hope is for every student, parent, staff and community member, to feel heard, valued and as though they BELONG at the New Elementary School. I also can’t wait to have a name for our new school so I can stop referring to it as the “New Elementary School,” lol! I look forward to your help in naming our new home, because in just a few short months (7 months to be exact) we will gather in our newly named home to fill the space with learning, laughter and love!!
Please take the time to submit a name for the new elementary school by completing THIS FORM by February 7. You may submit multiple ideas.
My name is Terri Politte, and I value building relationships with students and families and want to start by sharing a bit about my own! I have a wonderful husband and three amazing children. My oldest son is 24, who played college basketball and now lives in Chicago. My daughter is 21 and will be graduating from Mizzou in May. Go Tigers! My youngest daughter is 17 and will be graduating high school in May. Yes, we will be empty nesters soon. However, we still have some pets in the nest: a dog named Princess, a toy Yorkshire Terrier, who is the youngest in our family and is living up to her name, and we have two kittens that have taken over our home. Family is extremely important to me, and I believe we should cherish our time spent with family both at home and at school.
It is with great joy that I have the privilege to serve as your assistant principal. My door is always open, and I am dedicated to supporting your family in any way possible. I want you to know that your voice is important and valued. I look forward to the opportunity of working with you to create excellence in our learning community.
Again, we want to welcome all of your to what we hope to be your best school year yet! Please do not hesitate to reach out to one of us if we can assist you in any way. We look forward to seeing you soon!
