Technology/Social Media Tip
The holiday season is upon us, and families have extra time to play games, take in movies, and consume more media. Common Sense Media offers parents a wonderful "review" tool that critiques apps, movies, books, and games. Common Sense Media will tell you what you need to know as a parent, how the media ranks in quality, and which ages are most appropriate. You can search by media titles on their site here.
Future Ready Parenting
The Stoller PTO is hosting a Future Ready Parenting night on Wednesday, December 13th from 7-8pm in the cafeteria. Join us with your child and his/her Chromebook (fully charged) for a hands-on night with Stoller's instructional technology leaders. We will explore digital citizenship, foster conversations around technology use at home, and explore the Chromebook as a powerful learning tool. Space is limited to 100 families. Please reserve ONE ticket for your ENTIRE family on our Eventbrite page.
We will also be raffling off three Disney Circles (must be present to win).
Science/Engineering Fair
There will be a mandatory meeting Thursday, December 14th for those wanting to participate in the pre-qualifying fairs. Any students interested should bring their Chromebook to B7 (Ms. Svenson's Room) at either 8:40-9:05am or 3:50-4:15pm (students need only attend one meeting).
TriMet Message for Students
Last Reminder...
Your student ID is not a TriMet ticket
It’s come to our attention that some students are trying to board TriMet buses and trains without purchasing a TriMet ticket, and may think that their student ID is all they need. Your student ID is only valid on school district property. All Beaverton School District students must purchase a TriMet ticket before boarding TriMet vehicles. Your student ID is not valid on TriMet and you can expect increased fare inspections onboard.
TriMet offers a reduced price Youth Pass that’s available to youth ages 7-17 and students in high school (grades 9-12) or pursuing a GED. TriMet fare inspectors may ask to see your student ID as proof that you qualify for the Youth ticket.
Stoller’s 11th Annual Holiday Toy Drive
November 20th – December 8th

The toys will be donated to the KPTV/Les Schwab Toy Drive. For a full list of the non-profit organizations that are supported, please click here. Inclement Weather Information
When the weather gets snowy or icy, school schedules may be affected. The District generally posts the announcement of delayed school opening or school closure by 5:15 a.m. All Portland Metro area media outlets announce the information on TV newscasts and online.
The District makes decisions based on the ability to operate school buses safely; the ability for students and parents to get to school safely, and the ability of employees to get to work safely and on time. The decision that is made will be for the entire District. As always, parents may choose to make different decisions based on their particular location.
The District will notify parents via SchoolMessenger with a Non-School Hours Emergency message. Please manage your communication preferences in SchoolMessenger InfoCenter.
For the latest inclement weather information:
- Log on to the District website and a light blue message banner will be posted on the top of the main page with the status of District operations
