UCAS Update
February 12, 2021
Administrative Message
It brings me great joy to see our students participating in their classes and socializing in the hallway. Our state leadership has authorized us to use rapid COVID testing for students in order to start having some social activities. I am grateful for our state leadership and the priority they are placing on student mental health through this authorization. Never before have these opportunities been more valuable to our kids. The social and emotional well-being is of utmost priority for our students. Thank you for supporting your students in their participation in school activities to the level that you feel is safe. In addition to the few activities evening activities we have scheduled, we are also having a few lunch time activities during the school day. Val-o-grams were delivered to students this week thanks to our student council and hope squad, Provo students participated in a volleyball tournament during lunch, and Orem celebrated the week with a relaxation (pajama) day. It is refreshing to see the students enjoy these fun activities.
As administrators we are grateful for the overwhelming support we have had from our parents this school year. You have become part-time teachers for at home learning days. You have helped your students adapt to a less than ideal situation. Our students have been able to rise to the challenges of this year because of your sacrifices. Each year at graduation we acknowledge the parents and guardians of our students for their hard work through challenges that are inherent in an early college program. This year, especially, our parents deserve that acknowledgement. Thank you!
I hope that as families, you are finding joy in small successes; I hope you are also taking time together to relax and practice self care. While there are many things outside of our control right now, there are even more things to celebrate. Thank you for celebrating the successes of UCAS and our students with us!
Warmly,
The UCAS Administration
