Math Acceleration
Friday, February 28, is the deadline for a parent/guardian, teacher or other school district professional to request acceleration (grade skipping) in math by notifying Mrs. Schneider, the gifted and talented coordinator, in writing. Current kindergarten through sixth grade students, who are highly capable AND high performing students, are eligible to apply. Previously placed students do not need to reapply. Included with this written notification should be a rationale for why this is appropriate for the child. Once notification is received, a rigorous review process begins that incorporates data from student performance, standardized test results and teacher observation. Lake Country School’s math acceleration committee will review the data before the end of this school year for 2020-2021 math class placement. Parents who have questions regarding this process should contact their child’s math/classroom teacher(s) or Mrs. Schneider.

Open Enrollment for the 2020/2021 School Year
Once a pupil is attending a nonresident school district under open enrollment, the pupil may continue to attend that district without re-application. Open enrolled students must re-apply to attend Arrowhead High School.
The inter-district public school open enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend a public school in a school district other than the one in which they reside. The regular open enrollment application period for the 2020-21 school year begins on February 3, 2020, and ends at 4:00 pm on April 30, 2020. The best way to apply is online, the online application is available at https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment during the application period.
