The mission of Longfellow Elementary School
No school Monday January 18
In session school on Fridays starting January 22
On January 11, the Fargo Public Schools (FPS) COVID-19 Instructional Plan Committee met to review COVID-19 data. Per recommended guidance from local healthcare agencies, the committee decided to continue with the previously adopted return to in-person instruction plan and make no changes. Fargo Public Schools will return to in-person instruction (Level 4 – In-Person Instruction with Restrictions) for all grade levels beginning January 19, 2021. For Elementary school this means that students will have in-person learning on Fridays starting on Friday, January 22.

Ice skating for grades 2-5 starts Thursday/Friday January 21/22
Ice skating for grades 2-5 will start Jan 21st and run through February 26th every Thursday OR Friday, depending on your Physical Education day for those days. It will be during the normal PE time for your class.
Please see below for the days your child's class will be skating (weather permitting). Students are welcome to bring skates and helmets but no hockey sticks. If they want to bring their hockey gloves, that is fine. I do have some skates students can borrow. They are also welcome to just play in their boots.
Due to COVID restrictions, we can NOT have parents help tie skates this year. It's unfortunate, but we are thankful we can still skate!.
"A" day skating dates (Mrs. Ohren, Mrs. Olson, Mr. Anderson, Mrs. Mezzenga, Mrs. Reed, and Mr. Jensen): Jan 21st, Jan 29th, Feb. 4th, Feb 12th, Feb 18th, and Feb 26th.
"B" day skating dates (Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Larson, Mrs. Mortenson, Mrs. Pfau, Mrs. Brahos, and Mrs. Twohig): Jan 22nd, Jan 28th, Feb 5th, Feb 11th, Feb 19th, and Feb 25th.

Technology support is available Monday through Thursday from 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Fridays from 7:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
Please help us with our daily attendance by calling the school if your child is absent or will be leaving early. By calling the school we are able to insure that your child is safe and accounted for each day.
Please call the office ( 446-5051) or email Patty Edlund at edlunpa@fargo.k12.nd.us.
If your child arrives at school after the bell rings at 8:30AM, they will need to stop at the office to get a tardy slip before going to the classroom.
