Session Descriptions

Thursday, April 7: Designing Lessons Using QR Codes

  • Participants will participate in a lesson involving QR Codes. We will explore the resources for a lesson using QR Codes and start creating a lesson for your class. Participants will need a laptop AND a smart phone or tablet with a QR code reader app downloaded (there are many free QR reader apps available).

Wednesday, April 13: Flubaroo: Grading Google Forms

  • You gave an assessment on Google Forms....now what? We will explore the Flubaroo Add-on that allows teachers to grade a Google Form that they have assigned their students. Participants must have a Google Account (personal or GAFE account assigned through school). Participants can use results of an assessment they have given in class or demo data. Must have a working knowledge of Google Drive and know how to create a Google Form.

Thursday, April 28: Zaption: Interact and Learn with Videos

  • Zaption is the perfect tool to help make videos interactive, flip your classroom, or incorporate blended learning. Stop videos at key points and add your own questions for students to answer or points of emphasis as they watch. Makes showing a video interactive and gives the teacher stats on answers.

Tuesday, May 3: Google Classroom Overview

  • Google Classroom simplifies creating, distributing, and grading assignments in a paperless way. Participants MUST have a GAFE account (set up through their school) to utilize Google Classroom. Must have a working knowledge of Google Drive.
