February Learning Fun!
Message from the Principal
Thank you! Our Girls on the Run spots are now filled! We will be sending home information about the program next month. This will be for girls in grade 3-5. I've been a part of GOTR as both an administrator and a parent and it is an amazing program. I look forward to it beginning here at Mountain View!
Kindergarten and Pre-K Registration is now open. If you have a child entering school, please be sure to register ASAP. If you know of anyone in town that has a child entering Pre-K/K, please spread the word.
Read Across America will be celebrated with a Dress up Week. Please see the notice above for the daily themes.
Prompted by Read Across America, we will have a schoolwide reading incentive for March that will carry into the rest of the year. Each grade level will have a monthly reading logs and a Book Showcase of Choice Boards to complete. We have also noticed that many students still struggle with knowing their basic math facts. We will be adding fact practice to our incentive for March and throughout the remainder of the year. More information to come from your classroom teachers.
As always, I ask that you follow proper arrival and dismissal procedures. There are many signs up on the southbound side of Clover Hill Drive that parking is not allowed there during school hours. This is for your safety. The only place on Clover Hill Drive that parking is allowed is on the northbound side (closest to school) It makes it difficult for buses to see and safely enter/exit the lot. There are many cars parked here each morning. I do ask for your help, as this is a safety concern.
Also, we needed to open our gazebo lot for Staff Parking Only. The handicap spot is for staff and students that require it. Parents cannot park or pull into this lot for arrival or dismissal. All other parents, please drop off in the carline, use the parking in front of the building or on the side streets. There tends to be many parents and grandparents that continue to park in this lot. I ask again to please keep this lot for staff and students with a handicap sign only. I greatly appreciate your time with this matter.
Have a nice long weekend!
