8th Grade Career Fair - Monday, November 20 - 8:30-10:30 am

Lane is excited to announce we will be running our second annual Career Fair on Monday, November 20 from 8:30 to 10:30 am. We will again be using an arena-style format in our auxiliary gym with 8th graders visiting tables and gathering information about various careers.

This is where we need your help. Last year, we had many Lane parents volunteer their time and share their careers with our students. We are looking for professionals in the following fields to participate in the Career Fair, but any and all career fields are welcome. Please contact one of us if you can volunteer or if you know of someone that we should contact. Thank you so much.

School Messenger Automated Attendance Calls

District wide we have a new school messenger system that will call when your student is absent for a period or the entire school day. This communication is to ensure both school and home know the whereabouts of our students. Attendance matters....every class period and every school day counts. Please note that if your student is not in class when attendance is taken and subsequently is marked absent, you will receive an automated call. If your student returns to class with a pass (because of a meeting, with a teacher/guidance counselor/administrator or potential other excused reason), these absences will be rectified when the teacher has a moment to update the absent. However, there are times when an absent call will occur before the teacher rectifies the attendance. Our intent is to keep communication open and most certainly not to provide inaccurate attendance calls. If we can clarify any attendance call, please feel free to call the attendance line at 329-6608.
