January 6-8 "At Home" Learning Information
As you are aware, "at home" learning will occur from Jan. 6-8 to provide a true "circuit-breaker" and keep students safe at home while learning. Teachers will be sharing expectations for that week through email before we leave for Christmas break. The expectations may vary slightly dependent on grade level. Keep in mind to refresh yourselves on Google Classroom and Google Meets in the coming week as these will be used to track attendance and monitor student learning. It is important to know that learning will not be "synchronous" but programming will continue with staff support. Please know that our staff will be available during the school day from Jan 6-8.
An Angel Visits Mary
In the city of Nazareth, in Galilee, there lived a young woman named Mary. Mary was soon to marry a carpenter named Joseph. One day Gabriel, an angel, visited Mary and said: "Greetings, most favored one, and do not be afraid. God has chosen you among all women. Very soon you will have a baby, you must call him Jesus" This would be a very special baby. He would be great, and his kingdom would last forever and ever. He told her that the child would be called the Son of God.
Mary bowed before the angel Gabriel and told him she would be obedient to God and that she wanted to do as God wished. When she got up the angel had gone.
God’s word came true. Mary became pregnant with Jesus, and she got to be His mom! He was God in human flesh, and she got to take care of Him and raise Him into adulthood. God used her in amazing ways, and all she had to do was agree with His plan. She believed, and God worked in her.
You know, the same can be true of us. We don’t have to do special things on our own power in order to be used by God. We just have to believe. We recognize that Jesus did come, and that He lived and died for us. When we accept His salvation and trust in God, amazing things can happen. God can do seemingly impossible things for us, if we are willing to let Him.
