Hippo Nation...Better Together! Dec 2019
A Note from your CCE Principal
Dear CCES Families--
Thank you for supporting our campus each and every day! As the holiday season gets underway, our teachers and staff would like our families and community to know that CCE is a great place to be because of your support! Remember that we are #BetterTogether #Juntos!
We would like to welcome our newest member to Cottonwood Creek Elementary, Mrs. Kimberly Pollini! Mrs. Pollini is our newest "Legendary" member of our campus and brings her expertise in Music, Choir, and all things "Fine Arts" to Cottonwood Creek! We are blessed to welcome her to our campus! Please help us in welcoming her to our campus by attending a coffee meet & greet on December 5th at 7:10 AM in our Teacher's Lounge. You will love her passion for kids and music along with her energy and smile!
On behalf of everyone here at The Creek, we want to wish you and your family a safe, memorable and enjoyable Winter Season and Christmas Holiday!
Cottonwood Creek Elementary has the BEST Staff, Students, and Families! We truly are "Better Together"! Our students are "Legendary" at Cottonwood Creek Elementary!

Notes and Reminders from....
Linda Pachicano, Principal
Thank you for supporting our campus during our Thanksgiving Lunches! I was lucky to greet many of you to our campus at the serving line. I have never scooped so many vegetables in my life and I loved every minute of it! Families are always welcomed at "The Creek"! We had over 210 visitors for lunch! We loved it!
We have many other events planned at the campus including our Winter Parties in classrooms and the Jingle Walk on December 20th!
Here is some information to be aware of when visiting our campus:
- Please check in at the front office & check out at the front office; exit through the front doors when leaving the building; return your badge upon exiting
- Office Hours are from 7:10 AM - 4:00 PM
- School Hours are from 7:40 AM - 3:00 PM; Please pick up students on time each day
- Instructional Day begins at 7:40 AM; Please drop off your students in the cafeteria before that time. Visitors to classrooms are discouraged to protect student learning during instructional times. Teachers are available to conference with parents during their conference times.
- Transportation changes need to be made by 2:00 PM to allow our office staff enough time to notify teachers and staff of any changes. Please call the school office, send an email to our front office staff & teacher, or in person.

Cottonwood Creek Traffic News
Parents, we have received your feedback concerning the traffic in the front parking lot. Speed bumps have been installed to slow down traffic. CCE now has a swinging security gate to help with safety and traffic flow. This should keep parking lot safer for students and families and ensure a smooth traffic flow! Our first 2 weeks has been smooth! Thank you parents for the thoughts, ideas, and support! Keeping students and families safe is our priority!

Happy Holidays CCE families! This month teachers will focus their weekly Hippo Way lessons on Caring and Compassion, by being kind, patient, and forgiving, even when others might not be. I will support this traits through my monthly classroom guidance lessons in addition to focusing on gratitude especially during this holiday season.

Happy Birthday!
- Please let your child's teacher know at least the day before if you are planning on sending birthday cupcakes to celebrate your student's birthday. Our teachers plan/adjust their plans to accommodate cupcakes at the end of the school day.
- Birthdays are celebrated the last 15-20 minutes of the day to protect instructional time and keep us in compliance with school lunch & nutritional guidelines.
- Take advantage of our PTA Birthday Gram, for $5 students receive their personal Birthday Gram delivered to their classroom on their birthday. See the PTA facebook page or email them directly for more information.
- Please pick up students on time after dismissal. Our students have had a long day and are ready to head home and our office staff is working to complete their day. We understand that sometimes emergencies may arise, but please make arrangements to have someone else pick up your students if you are running late and communicate changes to the front office at 512-759-5430 as soon as you know that you are running behind. Help us keep the office running smoothly. Thank you!

- Fever should be gone without the use of fever-reducing medicine.
