Summer tutors needed in the ECC!!!

Volunteer opportunity for service-learning, & practice!

Help a child be successful this summer!!!

Change the life of a child by donating some of your time to provide homework help this summer. The Education & Counseling Center provides academic and counseling services to Chicagoland families who may not be able to afford it otherwise. We have lots of kids who would like to receive tutoring/homework help- Now we just need you to volunteer :)

Credit towards class or pre-service hours also possible with instructor approval.

No matter what your field is, it looks GREAT on a resume, and Dr. Mason is always happy to give recommendations/referrals for a job well-done!!!

We help K-12 grade levels. Most of the children are in grade school and come from all over Chicagoland to receive help. They are referred by teachers and parents. Tutoring generally lasts 1 hour each week with the same child, so your responsibility will be 1 hour/week (or more if you can spare it!). If you have a vacation coming, but would still like to volunteer- no worries! Just let us know in advance. All services take place within the center- 2247 N. Halsted St. Suite 100 (within the College of Education).

If you can spare an hour or more each week, please email Dr. Mason in the ECC at

DePaul Education & Counseling Center

Aligned with the service and social justice mission of DePaul University, the Education & Counseling Center seeks to strengthen, sustain, and serve urban communities; therefore, our mission is two-fold. The first is to provide quality and affordable educational and counseling services to adults, children and adolescents. The second is to prepare socially responsive counselors and educators to utilize evidence-based practices in their respective professions.

All services are facilitated on a sliding-fee scale, and No-one is ever turned away due to inability to pay.
