SEPTEMBER Wildcat Corner
Walker Elementary 2019-2020
Message from Mrs. Dameron
Just a reminder, our doors open at 7:45 am. Please make sure your child is not dropped off before 7:45am. We want our Wildcats to remain safe and always supervised. Students arriving after 8:05 am MUST be signed in at the front desk by a parent or guardian. Students are not able to enter the building late without an adult.
Thank you for your continued support and sharing your wonderful children with us. We are looking forward to a great 2019-2020 school year.
Crisis Drills Wednesday, September 18th
During the month of September, we will be practicing four emergency or crisis drills: Lockout, Lockdown, Shelter-for a Hazard, and Shelter-for Weather. These drills are in addition to our monthly fire drill, Evacuate.
While we do not anticipate the need to use these crisis procedures, it is important that we practice them to improve our ability to protect students, save lives and reduce injuries. Please be aware that the Lockout, Lockdown and Shelter-for a Hazard drills require that we lock all doors into the building and that no one is allowed to enter or to exit the building until the “all clear” is given. A sign will be posted on the front door, indicating that a drill is in progress.
In the event of an actual emergency, students will only be released to the parents or other adults listed on the student’s Emergency Card. Please ensure that this information is updated and accurate.
The crisis drills will be practiced twice in the Fall and twice in the Spring.
If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to call the school at 281-345-3200.
