People in Asia use irrigation in reservoirs to make the water clean for agriculture. "Water is important for irrigation in many Asian regions that are either arid (as in most ofCentral and Southwest Asia), subject to long dry seasons because of pronounced monsoonal (seasonal) variation in rainfall (as in much of South and South West Asia).
Groundwater: Water held underground in the soil or in pores and crevices in rock.

Desalinization: Any of several processes that remove some amount of salt and other minerals from saline water.
