Pan Celtic drew the Crowds

With perfect weather the Pan Celtic Festival certainly attracted big numbers into Carlow Town over the six days.

It portrayed Carlow in a very positive light and reports from many businesses were of a welcome increase in foot fall and spend.

Great credit is due to the organising Committee for the huge effort they put in and how well it showcased Carlow.

Reduction in Irish Rail Services in Carlow

Irish Rail made recent reductions to the services offered between Carlow and Dublin that are adversely affecting commuters working in Carlow.

Co Carlow Chamber has contacted Irish Rail seeking a restoration of

14.50 (Waterford) to 17.06 (Heuston) Newbridge stop required.

16.50 (Waterford) to 19.25 (Heuston)

We forwarded a petition from users of this service but unfortunately we have been unable to have the service restored.

Any reduction in transport services is a serious blow to the County and we will continue to campaign to have full services restored.

If you have any employees affected by these changes we would like to hear from you.

Retail

Members of Co Carlow Chamber will conduct a door to door survey of Town Centre businesses in the coming weeks. We will survey Members and non members who wish to be involved in this initiative. You can help us immediately by spreading the word about our upcoming survey.

We would like to hear your thoughts and ideas; we want to know what are the key issues facing YOUR business at this time.

It will be a short survey and we would appreciate a few minutes of your time.

At the conclusion of the survey we will hold a retail forum to develop the issues highlighted. We would like all Town Centre businesses to engage in the process and work together for the greater good.
