NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS FEBRUARY 4TH AND 5TH

Shalom's faculty will be attending a professional development conference these days. There will be no school for students. The school office will be open from 9-3 both of those days.

School will not be in session Monday, February 15th, Presidents' Day. The school offices will also be closed.

SHALOM IS HOSTING A CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MIXER - TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16TH

Shalom is a member of the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce, and we will be hosting a mixer in the Learning Commons from 5-7 PM for chamber members. Chamber membership is made up of businesses and individuals in the Chambersburg area.


In addition to refreshments, visitors will receive tours of the school and be treated to special music by Shalom students. We invite parents to come and be a part of this event. Please note that this is an adult only event.

ROBIN HOOD--THE MUSICAL -March 10th-12th

Under the rule of Prince John while King Richard was away at war, England was in dire straits. Prince John’s cruelty set the people on edge. Taxes were raised, stocks were filled, and the people lost all hope. One man, bandit though he be, took pity upon those in need, defying the Prince, robbing from the coffers of the rich and powerful, and giving to the poor.


Torn Curtain presents the musical version of Robin Hood March 10th-12th. Dessert theatre beings at 6:30 p.m.March 11th and 12th with ticket price of $10.00. Performance only showings are scheduled for Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with ticket price of $6.00. Please note that reservations are required for the dessert theatre. A reservation form is below. Tickets for the play only showings are available in advance or at the door.


You won’t want to miss this story of the underdog going up against the leader of a nation. Come join us!

BOOK FAIR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

SCA will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair in the Learning Commons March 3-11. New this year is a family night that will be held Friday, March 4th. Look for more information in the next parent newsletter.


We are in need of volunteers to help run the book fair! If you are interested in helping, please sign up using the Volunteer Sign-Up Website or by contacting Ginny McCleary orKari Davis.

Epilepsy Foundation is holding a fundraising breakfast at Applebee’s in Waynesboro – “Enjoy a short stack for a tall cause”, February 21st, from 8-10 AM. #Being Thirteen: Inside the Secret World of Teens, a CNN documentary film to raise awareness about how teens are using technology, the types of apps that teens are using, and the potential safety concerns surrounding them., will be shown Thursday, February 11th, at 6:30 PM at the Capitol Theater. The evening includes a preview of the film, a brief intermission with refreshments, and a panel discussion – made up of parents and professionals. Last registration date for Marion Athletic Association Baseball and Softball – Saturday, February 6th 9AM-12Noon. For ages 5-18. (First time players need copy of birth certificate.) Registration is on the 2nd floor of the concession stand. Please bring child along for uniform sizing. Registration fee is $50 and includes uniform.


No one wants a Broken Heart—Are you at Risk for Heart Disease? Free community seminar – Thursday, February 18, from 5:30-7:30PM at Wilson College Brooks Complex Auditorium. 5:30 check-in and light refreshments; seminar begins at 6:00. The seminar features Dr. Arshae Safi, Interventional Cardiologist, along with other special guests. Free blood pressure screenings and door prizes.
