Why are most Indians vegetarians?

Most Indians are vegetarian because of there religion. They believe in a principle of nonviolence towards animals. They also believe that non-vegetarian food in detrimental for mental and spiritual development.

What is Diwali and how is it celebrated

This white domed marble mausoleum is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Taj Mahal attracts 7–8 million visitors a year. Hinduism

Hinduism is one of the oldest known organized religions. Its sacred writings date as far back as 1400 to 1500 B.C. It is also one of the most diverse and complex. Hinduism recognizes as many as 330 million gods, But it also has one “God” that is supreme. "Brahman"-Brahman is an God believed to inhabit every portion of reality and existence throughout the entire universe. Brahman is both impersonal and unknowable and is believed to exist in three separate forms. These deities/Gods are Brahma-The Creator of the world; Vishnu-The Preserver/Defender or the world; and Shiva- The Destroyer of evil. Hindus believe in Dharma-The law of being, living life according to the laws of conduct described by Hindu scriptures. Karma-The law of cause and effect, action seen as brought upon yourself good or bad through your own actions they also believe in Samsara or "reincarnation" repeating the cycle of birth, life and death. Hinduism is the third largest religion in the world, but exist mostly in India and Nepal.
