Getting Closer
We are a few weeks into optional masking and staff and students have done a great job. School events are starting to occur again and looking as they did prior to the pandemic. We will continue to transition to assemblies, concerts, and field day, as they looked previously. Keep in mind, events that are occurring now, took months to plan. Therefore, the transition will take time. As we do, we are cognizant of the needs of the students.
Our second graders did a great job performing this week. This was the first musical performance we’ve had in years and it felt good to have students on stage and performing for an audience. This is just one example of our transition to traditional-looking events. You can view the concert HERE.
Thank you,
Pete Kurty, Ed. D

GRE ANNOUNCEMENTS
2 Question Survey: Bloomz
The survey may not have been working last week.
Background Information: Our goal is to provide consistent forms of communication from the classroom throughout the school. In addition, we use Bloomz to provide a glimpse of instruction into the classroom so you can engage in learning and school conversations with your child at home. Bloomz does cost money that is partially funded by the PTO (about $5 per student), which is why we want to determine its effectiveness.

Student Profile Form - Due April 1
Please take the time to read the GRE STUDENT PROFILE FORM carefully in its entirety.
This is the time of the year when parents and teachers begin to think about what is ahead for our students in the 2022-2023 school year. The teachers of your child’s present grade level, the guidance counselor, support staff, and the principals will collaborate to form next year’s classes. Please complete this form if you would like to give input into your child’s learning needs. This form is optional.
WHAT TO INCLUDE: Include any pertinent information regarding your child’s LEARNING NEEDS and the characteristics of the kind of CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT that will support her/his success. You may also include any STUDENT RELATIONSHIPS that may positively or negatively affect your child’s learning.
WHAT NOT TO INCLUDE: Please do not request a specific teacher. Due to the complexity of the classroom placement procedure, we will not honor a parent request for a specific teacher. Please do not ask current teachers to comment on the teachers in the next grade level.
Decisions about your child’s classroom placement are made in collaboration with other colleagues and depend upon many social, emotional, and academic considerations. We believe this procedure will create balanced, educationally sound class groups that will ultimately benefit all of our students. The important information you provide will assist the team in determining the best classroom placement for your child. Please DO NOT discuss next year’s placement with your child’s current teacher. Please DO NOT request a specific teacher by name.
This form is due by Friday, April 1, 2022. We will NOT accept any forms after the deadline.
Complete the GRE STUDENT PROFILE FORM HERE.
